I made two different types of cookies with Lawerence & Yuki, they have never baked before so really enjoyed this experience.
I was chatting to them about there school and lots of people in china go to boarding school from 5 years old!
Yuki and Lawerence both go to boarding school and only see their parents at the weekends, the school day is very long 7.30am to 8.50pm! They don't have any relaxing time as when the school day finishes it is time for shower and bed, the school teacher supervisors this.
They are not allowed their phones at school and no way of contacting home, they are not allowed out of the school premises at any time. Does this sound similar to a prison???
Both the girls have asked their parents to go home as they find it to hard and intense and miss their parents, but they say no.
In china it is very important to get good grads but as everyone in china gets good grades there is lots of competition for jobs.they also only get two holidays a year one month from July-aug and one month feb-march. When I told them about our school system they couldn't believe it, and when I said our children our homeschooled they thought it was wonderful and said they would like that, in china it is illegal to home educate unless u have a very very good reason to do it.
I have loved having the girls here and will miss them when they leave :(
